THERE was nothing like a cool shower for this horse yesterday as temperatures soared to make it the hottest day of the year so far.
As afternoon temperatures in the Skipton area hit a scorching 27C, Sprite was pictured at Farfield Livery Centre, Addingham, taking a drink while enjoying a cooling shower.
Meanwhile, over above Newby, heatwave or no, Daniel Chapman was busy haymaking - but with a hat on to protect his head against the sun.
Temperatures are expected to be lower today (Wednesday) says the Met Office and are expected to peak at around 22C this afternoon. It is predicted to be cooler for the rest of the week until Saturday, when temperatures are expected to hit 23C and even higher, 30C on Sunday.
