AUDIENCES attending Skipton Musical Theatre’ s production of Made in Dagenham the Musical should not be surprised to see a familiar face in the cast.
Taking the leading role of Eddie O’Grady is James Willstrop, former squash world champion, and recent gold medallist at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games.
After finishing fourth in the men’s singles in Birmingham, James and his partner Declan James won gold in the men’s doubles in the final against fellow Team England players Daryl Selby and Adrian Walker.
For many years James has combined his international squash success with amateur theatre, appearing with societies in Ilkley, Bingley, Harrogate and Adel . James also won the ‘best actor’ award at The Wharfedale Festival of Theatre in 2017.
Inspired by a true story and based on the hit movie, Made in Dagenham is the uplifting British musical comedy about friendship, love and the importance of fighting for what is right.
Funny, touching and timeless with some great songs, Made in Dagenham shows how ordinary people can do extraordinary things when they stand together.
The show will be performed at The Mart Theatre, Skipton, from October 27 to October 29. Evening performances at 7pm and a matinee on the Saturday at 2.15pm.
