SINGER- songwriter and musician Alistair Griffin - a contestant on BBC Fame Academy - joined the All Together Now Choir for a rehearsal

Yorkshire-born Alistair, who was mentored by Robin Gibb of the Bee Gees in the second series of the talent show, is to appear with the choir, whose members include singers from Skipton, Baildon and Bingley, at its Times Like These concert on September 10 at St George's Hall in Bradford.

The Skipton branch of the choir, led by Chris Kemp, rehearses on Thursdays at the Trinity Methodist Church, Duckett Street, Skipton.

Since appearing on Fame Academy in 2003, Alistair has written and performed numerous albums and singles. 'His 'Just Drive ' is the title song for Sky Sports F1 coverage. During the pandemic, he performed a lockdown concert in Skipton on a narrow boat.

Choir member Nessa Chacksfield said: "We were so proud and honoured to be singing Alistair's song 'The Road, written for the Tour de France. It sounded magical."
