A KEEN, self-taught photographer and student at South Craven School has had one of his photographs chosen to grace the 2023 BBC Countryfile Calendar.
Thomas West, 12, from Glusburn, entered a few of his pictures to Countryfile some months ago and was thrilled when they picked one he had taken of an egret at Lunt Meadows, near Liverpool.
Mum and dad, Samantha and Jeremy West said: "We wanted to share with our local community how proud we are of this amazing achievement at such a young age. He has been sharing his love of photography with his dad over the last few years and often travels the UK far and wide to photograph landscape as well as wildlife in particular birds.
"Thomas was invited down to spend the day with the BBC Countryfile team and wildlife photographer Hamza Yassin."
Details of how to obtain a copy of the calendar will be announced by the BBC soon.
