THE award-winning film The Quiet Girl will be screened by Cononley Cinema Club at the village institute on Sunday, October 23.

The film tells the story of a nine year old girl who experiences a loving home for the first time when she spends the summer on a farm with distant relatives.It is a visually beautiful film, set in1980s rural Ireland,brilliantly acted, and delivering a heart warming story of the power of kindness and love to children.

The film, certificate 12A, is in Irish and English with subtitles. Doors on October 23 open at 6.30pm for a 7.00pm start.Tickets are available on the door at Cononley Village Institute, at The Cononley Village Store, or by emailing cononleycinemaclub@btinternet.com.

The Cononley Cinema club is part of the Cine North network of more than 60 community cinemas in the North with 20 venues in North Yorkshire. The Cononley club has run for more than five years providing both entertainment and a sociable environment.
