WORK on the year–long £840,000 redevelopment of Settle Area Swimming Pool is now nearing completion.
The pool will officially re-open at the end of October with details of the new programme of sessions and booking arrangements published on the pool's website very soon.
Details will include information about the new - fitSpace – a wellbeing centre - which has been added to the building along with new changing facilities and showers and a revamped reception area.
The new dry area will offer a wide ranging programme of classes and events which will be aimed to suit all ages and abilities.
The pool is also looking forward to the opening of its new café as part of the new facilities.
The pool originally closed in October last year for redevelopment, and the plan had been to reopen it the same month while work carried on, but Storm Arwen in the November severely damaged the roof, meaning it had to be replaced.
