POLICE stopped a vehicle after recording it travelling at almost 100mph on the A59 yesterday (Sunday) at Blubberhouses, between Skipton and Harrogate.
The North Yorkshire Police Traffic Bureau tweeted on Sunday: "Despite the horrendous weather conditions today, a vehicle was recorded at almost 100mph on the #A59 #Blubberhouses.
"Our control room were informed and the vehicle was stopped a short moment later where the driver details were obtained. A file will be prepared for court shortly."
North Yorkshire Police Traffic Bureau works to reduce road traffic collisions and casualties by addressing inappropriate road use and improving road safety. It includes the use of police safety camera vans in locations identified by residents as speeding hot spots.
