RAIL passengers on a Leeds to Skipton train yesterday evening were held up for around half an hour after a fight reportedly broke out.
Just after the 7pm start of the football World Cup match between England and Wales, the 6.56pm train out of Leeds was stopped at Keighley following reports of a fight involving a man and a woman.
A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: "Officers responded to reports of a fight on-board a train at 7.22pm yesterday (November 29) and met the service at Keighley railway station.
"Two people, a 38-year-old man and a 42-year-old woman, were arrested on suspicion of common assault and taken to police custody. Both have been released pending further enquiries."
