THE MET Office has issued a yellow weather warning for ice as temperatures in parts of Craven, including Skipton, are due to plummet to as low as minus 7 overnight tonight, into Thursday, and the same overnight on Thursday, into Friday.
Drivers are being warned to be on their guard for icy patches on the roads which haven't been treated.
The warning starts at 6pm tonight and lasts until noon on Friday. Daytime temperatures are expected to hover around one or two degrees celcius with wind directions of west and west/northwest.
Looking ahead, the Met Office also says there is chance of light snow showers in Skipton towards the end of next week from around the 15th, turning to rain after the weekend.
