WHO remembers the Addingham Pram Race?
This wonderful picture from the Addingham Photo Archive shows the 1976 event in full flow. Participants set off from the village's Fleece Pub, in fancy-dress, and by the look of it, prams often came a cropper.
Many villages staged pram and wheelbarrow races around that time, usually involving teams racing from pub to pub. Of course, roads were not as busy 50 years ago...
