PUPILS at Kildwick Primary School have been honing their script-writing skills.
Year 6 youngsters enjoyed a workshop with Jo Maris, who writes for popular ITV soap Emmerdale.
Jo spoke to the children about her job, showed some clips of scenes that she had written and shared actual scripts.
Headteacher, Tim Whitehead, says: "Jo showed the class how sometimes even a finished script can be edited as the actors perform it. The children then went on to work on their own dramatic soap-opera-style scripts, before performing them to class."
Jo said: "I really enjoyed working with this talented group of children, who demonstrated a real flare for dialogue. I loved how they just threw everything into the pot to come up with some really great scripts."
