A CUT-price fare deal operated by Transdev – which runs the Dalesway service – has been extended.
Passengers across the company's network will pay no more than £2 for any single journey, until March 31.
Single fares for trips wholly within West Yorkshire were already capped at £2.
But now the promotion applies to all Transdev one-way journeys across Yorkshire and into Lancashire and Greater Manchester.
Routes which will see the price reduced include the Keighley to Skipton Dalesway service.
Passengers making the 11-mile journey previously paid £3.70, but will now enjoy a 46 per cent saving.
On some Transdev services, fares will be slashed by as much as 87 per cent.
The initiative is courtesy of the Government-funded Help for Households scheme.
Alex Hornby, Transdev's chief executive officer, says: "Thanks to our continued collaboration with industry partners and the UK Government, we are delighted to be able to offer this amazing promotion to our customers across Yorkshire and into Lancashire and Greater Manchester.
"We’ve been amongst the most successful operators in the country in attracting customers back to buses post-pandemic. But we know there are still some who have yet to return to our routes – and during the current cost-of-living crisis in particular, we hope this money-saving promotion will attract them back on board.
"The bargain £2 single fare will be instantly available anytime, anywhere and on any day from bus drivers – using cash or contactless payment – and on the free-to-download Transdev Go mobile app.
"Fares for journeys wholly within West Yorkshire, which have already been reduced to £2 with support from mayor Tracy Brabin, will continue to be available as normal."
