WEST Craven councillors are asking for road safety improvements after a 'serious crash' in Earby 'half demolished a house'.
Residents had raised concerns following the incident and were asking if further measures could be put in place to improve the route through Northolme, Salterforth Road, heard the West Craven Committee of Pendle Council.
At its meeting in Barnoldswick last week, Councillor David Whipp said: "I suggest we flag it up with county council (Lancashire) highways and ask them to consider what could be carried out to minimise risks."
A report will come back to a future meeting of the West Craven Committee.
Councillors also agreed to discuss further at a future meeting land next to the Leeds and Liverpool canal at Greenberfield Locks, Barnoldswick.
It comes after a meeting with members of the committee, representatives of the Canal and River Trust, nearby residents and members of Barnoldswick in Bloom met to discuss the condition and use of the land next to the canal, below bridge 157.
Barnoldswick in Bloom has suggested the area becoming a nature reserve and has gained the support of Barnoldswick Town Council.
The Canal and River Trust carried out a habitat survey in May and June last year and has been preparing a 10-year management plan.
