SIGNS warning dog owners who fail to clean up after their pets that they could be caught on camera have gone up in Gargrave.
Gargrave Parish Council has got so fed up with some anti-social dog owners who fail to 'bag and bin' along the village's section of the Leeds and Liverpool Canal towpath that they are using covert 'spy' cameras.
Signs have gone up at five key points of the canal towpath warning people about the cameras.
A recent meeting of the parish council heard how the towpath was plagued by dog mess and that despite attempts to get owners to change their ways, it remained a nuisance. The council had even taken to spraying dog faeces along the towpath with red paint to alert walkers it was there.
