APPLETREEWICK, Barden and Burnsall Angling club (ABBAC) established in 1873 is celebrating its 150th aniversary by making donations to the community.

The club has members in Hebden, Burnsall and Appletreewick and others outside of the area with some famous past angling names (Sylvester Lister of Barden Towers) to name but one. In recent years the club has put more emphasis on improving the habitat along the river bank while the ongoing war against the invasive species of Himalayan Balsam continues. Also the clubs policy of no longer stocking the river with bred fish has improved the quality of the both the brown trout and grayling.

ABBAC would like to thank the Dales community by donating £500 to village halls in Appletreewick, Burnsall and Hebden and £500 to the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
