THE MET Office has issued an amber warning for snow for parts of Craven.
Light snow showers are expected to turn heavy by this afternoon (Thursday) and remain until at least lunchtime on Friday.
Disruption to roads and footpaths is expected and people are being encouraged to take care.
The amber warning covers central and northern England.
Temperatures for Skipton is expected to plummet to -5 oC overnight Friday into Saturday.
Temperatures rise on Saturday to be followed by sleet from Saturday afternoon into Sunday when heavy rain is predicted
