PEOPLE gathered in Skipton yesterday (Sunday) to take part in - or to watch - the Palm Sunday Procession.
The procession started at the bottom of the High Street at 10am on Sunday before moving to Holy Trinity Church.
The gates of the church were ceremonially barred by church curate Rev Doug Rice-Bowen and then opened in recognition of Jesus entering the Gates of Jerusalem Temple on Palm Sunday.
It was a joint event to mark the start of Holy Week between the churches of Holy Trinity Skipton, Christ Church Skipton, St Mary's Carleton, St Mary's Embsay and St Augustine Draughton, and included marching drummers.
The procession was followed by a service of family communion in the church.
