RISING young judo star Esmeè Holgate, who hopes one day to compete in the Olympic Games has been helped on her way by North Craven Conservatives.
The group's annual charity quiz held recently at Bentham Golf Club raised £403, which has been handed over to Esmee.
The 17-year old from High Bentham, has been participating in judo for nine years.
She has won many titles including regional, national, European and international medals, and travels extensively for competitions.
She trains weekly at the Walsall Centre of excellence, and at the Bredaquai Judo Academy in Accrington five nights a week.
Esmeè earned her place on the senior GBR squad and is now on The Olympic Pathway. She currently attends Queen Elizabeth School in Kirkby Lonsdale, where she is studying science A- levels, and has won the British School Championships several times.
A spokesperson for the North Craven Conservatives said members were pleased to be able to support Esmee.
