A PET black labrador has been made an honorary team member at a care home because she brings such joy to residents and staff.
Three-year-old Jess visits Anchor's Gill Top care home with owner Sam to see Margaret Salmnon, 80, and has won the hearts of everyone.
In celebration of her affect on people, Jess has been made an honorary member of the team. She has been given a special neckerchief and the title of Pet Companion. Jess has also been named Anchor’s Pet of the Month for April.
Gemma Heaton, manager of Gills Top said: “Jess is an absolute star. She’s such a clever dog and really empathetic too. You can tell she loves everyone here and we all love her. I was thinking about making her my colleague of the month as well.”
Recently, Anchor was awarded the Gold standard from the RSPCA at its annual PawPrints Award for continuing to support pet-owning residents at its properties.
