A NEW leaseholder is being sought for Skipton's Narrow Boat pub.
The town centre pub, off the High Street on Victoria Street, was developed by Market Town Taverns and has been a successful traditional pub business for many years.
It has focussed on a real ale theme with traditional pub food and occasional live music making it a 'simple but successful concept', say leisure property specialist, Fleurets.
When it first opened in 1999, it was revolutionary as it had a no smoking or no live music policy - which was unknown at the time. It was also the only pub in Skipton to offer an ever-changing range of good quality cask ales.
The leasehold is now available to purchase and is on the market at Nil Premium - meaning the new leaseholders will not have to make a payment for the goodwill or built up existing business.
Simon Hall, director of Fleurets said, “The Narrow Boat has long been a super traditional real ale based town centre pub and provides a cosy bar and lounge with a separate function room.
"The is real scope to take advantage of the location and space and to increase the live music and entertainment offering.”
The pub, which had a pre-Covid turnover of £9,000 per week, has a free of tie rent of £23,000 per annum.
