ANYONE with an interest in local rail services will be welcome at this weekend's annual general meeting of the Aire Valley Rail Users Group.
Saturday's (April 29) meeting, which will be held in Saltaire, will also include the annual general meeting of the Friends of Airedale Line, whose aim is to promote links with communities along the line - which goes from Skipton to Leeds and Bradford.
It will facilitate the adoption of local stations, through the new Northern scheme. Stations can become community hubs as well as departure points Guest speaker, Darren Allsopp, from Northern Rail, will talk about current plans for local rail services. Those at the meeting will have a chance to discuss the current state of the railway and plans for improvements.
Tim Calow of the Aire Valley Rail Users Group, said: "This is the chance to have your say about the development of our train service and to help us build community links."
The Aire Valley Rail Users Group is a voluntary organisation which campaigns for improvements in rail services between Leeds, Bradford, Shipley, Bingley, Keighley, Skipton and Gargrave.
Saturday's meeting will take place at 1pm and will be held at Saltaire Methodist Church, on the corner of Saltaire Road and George Street, just five minutes walk from Saltaire railway station. All welcome.
