BUSES in the Craven area will run a Sunday service on each of the three bank holidays in May - on Monday, May 1; Monday May 8, and finally, Monday, May 29.
It means that the North Yorkshire Council minibus services will not be running on the Bank Holiday Mondays, or the Craven Connection buses between Skipton, Settle, Ingleton and Kirkby Lonsdale. Other buses will be running their usual Summer Sunday timetables, including Cravenlink bus 864 from Skipton to Gargrave and Malham; Cravenlink bus 873 from Skipton to Embsay, Barden Moor, Bolton Abbey and Ilkley. Also, the DalesBus 72 to Grassington, with onward connections to Upper Wharfedale, Aysgarth and Hawes on the double-decker DalesBus 875.
The current £2 cap on all single bus fares continues until the end of June, as part of an initiative funded by the Department for Transport.
Trains will generally run a normal weekday timetable on the bank holidays.
