A BUILDER has re-submitted plans to build 25 new homes on land off Meadow Lane and Moorfoot Lane in Cononley.

Calvert Homes (Cononley) has submitted a full planning application to North Yorkshire Council - which replaced Craven District Council on April 1 - for 25 homes, including two, three, four and five bedroom properties.

The proposed new homes will be a mixture of terrace, semi-detached and detached properties.

A previous application for the same number of homes on the site by Calvert Homes was rejected - against officer advice - by Craven District Council in January. At the time, the council's planning committee was warned against refusing the plans by its own officers, because of a risk of the applicant going to appeal.

In a planning statement accompanying the resubmitted plans, chartered town planners for the applicant say that an appeal has been lodged with the Planning Inspectorate following January's refusal.

It adds: "The layout of the development has been slightly amended, with the two dwellings previously proposed to front onto Meadow Lane repositioned to the centre of the site in order to address one of the planning committee’s reasons for refusal relating to the setting of the listed barn on the opposite side of Meadow Lane."
