MEMBERS of a Wharfedale angling club were joined by family members to clean up a stretch of the River Wharfe - filling around 16 bags with rubbish and even clearing away a trampoline, complete with safety netting.
A group of 16 people took part on one of Appletreewick Barden and Burnsall Angling Club's regular cleans of the river. They picked up litter and debris from the river and its banks, on a stretch from Barden Bridge to Linton stepping stones.
Stephen Wilson, a member of Appletreewick, Barden and Burnsall Angling Club, said: "The debris consisted of plastic, dog poo bags ,scrap iron and a large trampoline base and side netting. All of which being unsightly but more importantly dangerous to the rivers wild life. Over 16 rubbish sacks were filled."
