ALL 60 pupils of Brougham Street Nursery School have visited Skipton Castle over the past three weeks, thanks to a community grant from estate agents Linley and Simpson.
The pupils' project this term is “who lives there?” and the children’s interest in castles developed when they began learning about the King’s coronation.
“We read lots of story books about kings and queens, many of which were set in castles. There is no better way for a child to understand something than by through real experiences,” said class teacher Beccy Robinson.
She added: “We are incredibly grateful to Linley and Simpson for this wonderful opportunity. The visit to the castle has been an enormous benefit to the children providing them with a wealth of learning opportunities. Seeing the children’s excitement in the castle was a joy to see. Without the grant this would not have been possible.”
