GRAHAM Cross, who has spent all his life in Clapham, has written a book about the village.
"I was born and brought up in Clapham with family connections to the parish going back many generations. As I have got older, I have realised that everything I had, I took for granted," he said.
"It was a fantastic place to be raised. I have six grandchildren and I often reminisce to them how very different their lives are to mine growing up.
"I hope for my generation the book will fetch back many memories and for younger people an understanding of village life in the 1950’s and 60’s, showing how things have changed and not always for the better."
Copies of 'Clapham Village when I was a lad' can be bought in Clapham, Austwick and Settle.
