ORGANISERS of Gargrave Show on Saturday, August 19 will be hoping for fine weather for the 117th event.
Held as usual in front of Eshton Hall, Eshton Road, the event will start at just after 8am with the judging in the main ring of the horse hunter classes. The traditional agricultural show will include cattle, sheep and horse classes, showjumping, and a mounted fancy-dress.
There will also be vintage and classic cars, tractors and military vehicles, junior showing classes, and a fun dog show.
Fell races, for all ages, will take place from midday and set off from the main ring; there will also be children's sports, egg-throwing, crafts, horticulture and produce; and the traditional end to the day, terrier racing.
Admission, £12 for adults, £6 for seniors and 12 to 18 year olds, free for under 11s. Dogs are welcome. A free minibus service will operate from Gargrave Station and Summer Seat to and from the showground, where there will also be car parking.
