The Hop and Vine bar in Cowling has applied to North Yorkshire Council for a variation of its premises licence so alcohol can be served until 10.45pm.
The bar on Keighley Road, which offers craft ales, wines and cocktails, is currently allowed to sell alcohol from 12pm until 9pm from Monday to Saturday, which owner Stephen Davy is hoping to extend.
The hours would remain until 9pm on Sundays, except on bank holidays when it would be until 10.45pm.The bar is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, according to its website.
There were no objections to the proposal from North Yorkshire Police but the council’s environmental health team said it was currently investigating two noise complaints at the premises.
As part of the application, Mr Davy said he will ensure the bar’s rear doors and windows are closed when music or other entertainment is taking place. He’s also said no children under 16 will be allowed in the bar after 9pm.
There have been two objections from members of the public, including one from a family which lives next door.
They said they are regularly disturbed by shouting or loud noises in the evening as well as cigarette smoke.
Councillors on the statutory licensing sub-committee will meet in Skipton on Tuesday to consider the application.
Mr Davy applied to vary the licence until 11pm last year but it was refused by Craven District Council’s licensing committee due to concerns about noise, smoking and rowdy behaviour affecting neighbouring properties.
