A FASHION show at Skipton Town Hall raised £1,100 for The Big TLC - a series of events organised by the Airedale Hospital and Community Charity.
The glamorous event, which saw businesses and students from Craven College strut their stuff on a make-shift catwalk, was one of the charity’s fundraising highlights of the NHS 75th anniversary celebrations.
Skipton's On Trend boutique took part in the event, along with The Beauty Nest, FIIYA and The Rusted Kingdom. It also showed off the talents of the college's art and design students, and Greatwood School pupils who made costumes out of recycled materials.
Laura Brennand, a college tutor, said: “The show was amazing. I am so grateful to Airedale Hospital and Community Charity for including us in the event and allowing us the opportunity to showcase our students work on the catwalk.
"It was wonderful to celebrate the hard work and achievements of our fashion and textiles students. To be able to support the charity in raising money for such worthy causes was an honour too, we loved being a part of the event.”
The fashion show was supported by various stalls from local businesses, including The Beauty Nest, FIIYA and The Rusted Kingdom.
Laura Hepworth, charity fundraiser and organiser of The Big TLC says, “We were overwhelmed with the support for the event.
"It was lovely to see so many people supporting their NHS, celebrating the 75th anniversary and having a good time. We cannot thank enough all those who took part in the show, hosted a stall, donated a prize and attended on the evening. Bringing our fabulous community together was so important to us, as was encouraging people to take a night for themselves. We hope everyone who came had a great time.”
