POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a serious traffic collision earlier today (Thursday) which closed the A59 at the Skibeden roundabout towards Bolton Abbey. Roads in the area have now reopened.
The collision happened at around 7am and involved a single motorcycle and one rider. No other vehicles were involved. Police warned that the road would be closed for some time and urged motorists to take alternative routes.
A police spokesperson said roads in the area around the roundabout had been reopened.
"Thanks to motorists for their patience while officers carried out their enquiries."
Officers are requesting anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward, especially those with dashcam footage to help with the investigation.
