MORE than 20 organisations with an interest in the environment took part in Skipton Eco Day.
A variety came together at Skipton Town Hall for the event to show what they do and to get together in a shared desire to protect the environment.
Families enjoyed a number of associated fun activities, including a treasure hunt though Skipton Woods, craft making, interactive games and face painting. All the children completing the treasure hunt received a bag of wildflower seeds and an animal mask.
There was a presentation on the future of the environment by Skipton Craven Rotarian Peter Ripley and story telling by Liz Roodhouse, coordinator at Craven Development Education Centre.
Liz, who also leads on Skipton Fair Trade said: "It was a pleasure to be there and a joy to meet people who like me are passionate about making a difference."
Nicky Shoesmith, Skipton Rotary president added: “I am delighted that so many organisations came together for this day and had the opportunity to show the public what they can do to help our environment. Everyone there seemed to be thoroughly pleased with the event. The opportunity is now to build on this when we repeat Eco Day in 2024”.
Anyone interested in taking part in next year’s event should register their interest at Skipton Rotary Club’s Facebook page. @skiptonecoday @skiptonrotary
