A UNIQUE opportunity for art lovers and equestrian enthusiasts to celebrate the beauty of horses through art is taking place in The Garden Rooms at Tennants, in Leyburn.
The exhibition from the Society of Equestrian Artists, open from October 10 to 29, is showcasing the works of some of the UK’s most renowned equestrian artists and will feature a broad spectrum of styles from classical to contemporary across a wide range of media.
Capturing the power and grace of horses, from the excitement and drama of racing to the gentle peace of a pony at rest, the artists draw on their personal experiences to explore many areas of equestrian life and the relationship between human and horse.
A catalogue of the work will also be available to view online ahead of the exhibition.
Jane Braithwaite SEA, chair of the society, who lives and works in the area, said: ‘After a difficult time for art societies, we are delighted to be going from strength to strength. The Garden Rooms at Tennants is a perfect venue for us, being a hub for arts and culture in the Yorkshire Dales.’ Whether you are a seasoned collector or a first-time visitor to an art exhibition, this event promises to be a fascinating experience and an opportunity to enjoy a wonderful array of equestrian art. The Society of Equestrian Artists is dedicated to education in the challenging art of painting horses. To this end, we organise painting workshops (including residential) throughout the country where artists have the opportunity to paint horses from life under the tutelage of some of our most renowned Full Members.
"In addition, we hold an exhibitions to show our member’s work. Having previously exhibited at London galleries such as The Mall Gallery and Christie’s, and Palace House in Newmarket, it gives us great pleasure to hold our exhibition here in the North at Tennants for 2023."
The exhibition is open daily and is free to enter. It is open daily Monday-Friday 8:30am-5pm, Saturday 9am-5pm and Sunday 9am-4pm.
