A 37-YEAR old man who stole £690 of goods from Tesco in Skipton almost a year ago has been given a community order and ordered to pay £319 in a fine and costs.
Edward Stokes, from Salford, Greater Manchester, originally denied stealing from the store on November 7, 2022 when he appeared at Harrogate Magistrates Court in March this year.
He changed his plea to guilty in August and at York Magistrates Court on September 28 he was given a 12 month community order.
Stokes, of Jane Street, will have to carry out up to 30 rehabilitation activity requirement days. He was also fined £120 and ordered to pay costs of £85 and a surcharge of £114.
Magistrates took his guilty plea into account when imposing the sentence.
