DOES any reader recognise this village street which may well have been taken in the Craven district?
The photograph has been passed to us by David Mander, who manages the Bordley, Cracoe, Hetton and Rylstone Local History Collection. He says it formed part of a group of copy photographs held by the editor of the BCHR History Society’s magazine, Times Past. The Society closed in 2021 but a collection is maintained at Cracoe Village Hall and will be open for use in the near future.
In the meantime parts of the collection are being digitised and added into the Dales History website, run by the Yorkshire Dales Community Archives, part of Friends of the Dales.
Mr Mander said: "We would like to add this view to what is already on line. So can you help? Is this your village street? Do you recognise any of your ancestors among the children?
