MOTORISTS using the A59 between Skipton and Harrogate will have to put up with delays to their journeys until at least Sunday night - after yesterday's wet weather put back the hoped for completion of roadworks.
On Monday, North Yorkshire Council said five week long £550,000 repairs and maintenance to the Kex Gill section of the A59, which have meant a full road closure, were due to come to an end tomorrow (Friday).
But, following heavy rain yesterday (Wednesday) the repainting of lines, which were to have taken place yesterday, is now due to take place tomorrow (Friday) and Saturday.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Council said it was hoped that the road would reopen sometime Sunday night.
