NORTH Yorkshire Council has thanked all those who expressed their views on a planned new 'extra-care' facility for older people in Gargrave.
The council says it is now going through the responses to September's public consultation and will report back 'in due course'.
The council owned site, off Eshton Road, is already earmarked for a care facility for older people.
Extra-Care schemes are usually a purpose-built block of apartments and/or bungalows designed to help people remain independent in their own homes as long as possible. A care team is on site all the time in case of emergencies and schemes can include a restaurant, hairdressers or other facilities.
North Yorkshire Council’s executive member for health and adult services, Cllr Michael Harrison, said: “In September, we carried out a public engagement exercise which asked for residents’ views on plans to provide an Extra Care facility in Gargrave.
“We are currently evaluating the responses received and will report back on the findings in due course. We would like to thank everyone who has contributed their views and ideas.”
In September, the council closed the village's Neville House home. The council has said in the past that the site could be redeveloped as assisted living accommodation for working age adults.
