RESIDENTS of Springbank Care Home in Silsden are now able to have weekly pampering sessions following the opening of a new salon at the home. It follows a similar project at the Steeton Court Nursing Home, also owned by Spellman Care.
Lisa Noble, home manager; April Howie, deputy manager; and hairdresser Lisa Guest joined residents in cutting a ribbon ceremony, before welcoming them inside.
The new salon, which was designed by local interior designer, features two cutting stations, a backwash, a nail bar and a waiting area, which will soon be fitted with a coffee machine.
Lisa said “We are delighted to officially open our new luxury hair and beauty salon at Springbank. The salon has been designed with our residents in mind and offers a new accessible space, encouraging social interaction with our comfy and stylish seating areas, nail bar and time to catch up over coffee.
Our aim was to enhance our resident experience of this much-loved activity, and recreate an experience that is accessible in the community, in the comfort of our resident's own home.”
Residents at Springbank will have the opportunity to visit the salon for a haircut and style every Thursday, with additional visits for pampers and nail painting at their pleasure.
