AN application for a rural worker's dwelling on land at Thornbrook Barn, Thornton in Lonsdale, has been received by North Yorkshire Council.
The full application is for a two-storey, four bedroom dwelling measuring approximately 275 square metres with 75 square metres of storage/office/employment area, on a corner plot.
The site adjacent to Thornbrook Barn Caravan Site is said in the report to be currently low grade agricultural land.
The application includes associated access and site landscaping.
The design statement states traditional Dales architectural features are included in the design. Traditional materials are proposed and where practical reclaimed materials will be used to ‘age’ the building.
The report adds: "External landscaping will be kept minimal and modest, reflecting the open agricultural countryside landscape surrounding it."
