A SKIPTON man has been jailed after admitting a string of thefts.
Paul Carr, 53, pleaded guilty at York Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, November 22, to three counts of theft and one of failing to surrender to police/court.
Carr was jailed for a total of 16 weeks for all the offences which ran consecutively. They were - six weeks in prison for taking goods to the value of £54 from Boyes, in Swadford Street, Skipton, on November 21, 2023; six weeks in prison for stealing a £30 bottle of Hepple gin from Marks and Spencer, in Jerry Croft, Skipton, on September 23, 2023, and four weeks in prison for failing to surrender to police/court bail on November 17, 2023 at Harrogate Magistrates' Court and on November 4, 2023 at York Magistrates' Court.
He was also given a two weeks prison sentence to run concurrently for stealing eight T-shirts belonging to New Look, Low Street, Keighley, on September 6, 2023.
Magistrates said they imposed the custodial sentences because Carr, of Bennett Street, had a 'flagrant disregard for court orders'.
