FAMILIES looking for some festive fun right up until early next year need look no further than Skipton's Christmas Gingerbread Trail - and they could win £100 of shopping vouchers.
The treasure hunt, including a family of ten giant gingerbread characters and a 'selfie-zone' - just perfect for social media posts - is on now and runs all the way through Christmas and New Year until January 3.
To take part, families can collect a trail map from Skipton Town Hall, the library or Craven Court, before setting off on a gingerbread hunt. At each stop, there will be a letter, and once all are collected, a festive phrase will be revealed.
Trail goers then fill in a form, drop it off at a special box box in Craven Court, and at the end of the event in January, one lucky person will win £100 of vouchers to be spent around the town.
Sarah Howsen, Skipton BID Manager, which is organising the trail, said “Skipton BID is always looking for something that will attract more footfall to the town to support our businesses – but also something that offers something fun and free for residents and visitors so that they come back again and again. We’re sure that the Christmas Gingerbread Trail will be a success and we look forward to seeing people enjoying the trail and sharing their photos with us on social media.”
To add to the fun there is a weekend of Gingerbread themed activities taking place over the weekend of December 16 and December 17. Families are invited to make a cuddly gingerbread character, decorate their own gingerbread biscuits, join story time and crafting at Skipton Library and much more.
