RESIDENTS of Horton-in-Ribblesdale are being invited to get into the festive spirit this weekend by celebrating the village's first community Christmas tree for many years with music and a grand turning on of its lights.
The Christmas tree is in the Yorkshire Dales National Park car park in the middle of the village, where starting at 5pm on Saturday (December 2) there will be music and a chance for everyone to celebrate the start of Christmas.
Ian Orton, parish clerk at Horton-in-Ribblesdale Parish Council, said: "The Christmas tree and lights have been funded by Horton Quarry and the event has been arranged by Horton in Ribblesdale Parish Council. Everyone will be very welcome this Saturday at 5pm."
