MEETINGS of Skipton Town Council are set to be filmed and streamed.
With the help of Craven College students, full meetings, when all the councillors are present, and finance committee meetings will be filmed and streamed on YouTube.
A full meeting of the council heard that students and a teacher had carried out a dry run in the council chamber with their own equipment and were excited by the opportunity to gain valuable experience.
Deputy mayor, Cllr Peter Madeley, told the full meeting that it was a 'win win situation'.
If the council needs to go into a private session, when members of the public and press are asked to leave, filming and recording will stop.
Audio recordings of meetings already takes place and the council is currently working with it's website providers on how it can upload the files onto its website.
