PLANS for a new carbon-neutral heating system in Skipton's Holy Trinity Church were discussed at a public meeting last week.
The meeting, held in the church, also heard about plans to significantly improve access to the church itself and its cafe.
Mike Overton one of the church architects gave a detailed overview of the project, and the Rector, James Theodosius spoke about the vision that lies behind the plans - to enhance the warmth of welcome and the use of facilities for local community, visitors and worshippers alike.
Rev Theodosius said: "The 28-day public notice of the works extends for another week, for those interested they can view the plans and specifications for the works in a folder at the back of the church.
"Holy Trinity will then look to enter a period of fundraising to add to the sum of money put aside from the generous legacy of Thomas Drake. An appeal will be launched once permission for the project has been received."
People have until Friday, December 8 to make comments about the plans; after which a planning application will be made to the local planning authority, North Yorkshire Council.
