THE A65 at Coniston Cold is due to be closed to all traffic for a few hours on Sunday, December 10 while repairs are done to a damaged bridge.
The bridge, on the outskirts of the village towards Skipton, was damaged recently when two cars collided and dislodged the parapets at both sides.
A spokesman for North Yorkshire Council's Highways department said the road is due to be closed from 5am to 9am for the wall to be rebuilt with blocks.
Once the work has been completed a two-way traffic lights system will be set up for up to two days to give the walls time to set solid. No other closures are planned.
The spokesman added that the work will only go ahead if Lancashire County Council has completed work on a bridge along the A682 at Newsholme, between Long Preston and Gisburn. That stretch of the road is currently closed for two weeks with diversions in place.
