A FESTIVE lunchtime recital with soprano Alexandra Lowe is due to take place on Sunday, December 10 at the Priory Church, Bolton Abbey.
Alexandra, who has been receiving rave reviews for her Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni at Glyndebourne, will be accompanied by pianist and organist Michael Papadopoulos.
Organisers promise it will be a magical selection of festive favourites and Christmas carols for all the family.
Carol Dawson said: “Alexandra and I are organising another gathering at the Priory Church on December 10. This time it is a festive recital when all the family will be most welcome to come to sit down, for an hour, and reflect on what Christmas is all about.
“There will be lots of festive favourites, carols and even the poem A Visit from St Nicholas, read by nine-year-old Oscar Makin-Jones.”
Next year, from February to April, Alexandra will play Fiordiligi in Opera North's Cosi Fan Tutte.
The recital at Bolton Abbey will take place from 1pm to 2pm. Tickets are £20 for adults, £15 for under 30s and children under 16 free.
Proceeds from a raffle at the event will be for the Priory Church. For tickets contact Carol Dawson phone 07710 843003 or email caroldawson26@gmail.com For more information about Alexandra Lowe and her career, visit alexandralowe.co.uk
