POLICE are seeking witnesses to a serious assault in Skipton on Saturday resulting in a teenage boy requiring hospital treatment.
A spokesman for North Yorkshire Police said: "We are appealing for witnesses after a 14-year-old boy was repeatedly punched in the face by another male who was with a group of people at Skipton bus station.
"It happened at around 5pm to 6pm on the evening of Saturday, December 2.
"The victim suffered significant injuries to his eye socket and was taken to hospital for treatment which is ongoing due to the severity.
"We are appealing to anyone who was at the bus station at the time and witnessed the incident or the events leading up to it, to get in touch.
"We would also like to speak to anyone who knows about the incident and has any information that can help them identify the suspect or the group of people he was with, to contact us.
