A SECOND proposal to build glamping pods at a remote farm site in Craven has been approved.

The new application had been submitted to North Yorkshire Council by Beverley Robinson to build six glamping pods as well as create space for caravans and tents at Lower Brayshaw, Tosside, after planners refused the first plans in July last year.

The refusal cited a detrimental impact on the Forest of Bowland AONB.

In the new application, the applicant argued that the location of the pods within the AONB has been a “key consideration” from the start of the project .

The glamping pods will be situated along the existing dry stone wall boundary that marks the eastern edge of the proposed development site on moveable structures that require no foundations .

The proposed motorhome bays will take the form of reinforced grass surfacing to provide a natural finish. The units would be accessed via an existing, improved farm track to the east. New field access will be created with a lockable field gate, allowing specific access to the camping field, away from the surrounding agricultural land.

A new field access track to the proposed motor home bays, glamping pods and camping field will be provided within the site.  There is the intention to introduce EV charging points once the site has been established.
