KILDWICK Primary School pupil Georgia Harling has won Skipton MP Julian Smith's annual Christmas card competition.
Nine year old Georgia's picture of Santa and his sleigh delivering presents on a snowy Christmas Eve will used on the front of the MP's official Christmas card, sent out to hundreds of people in Westminster and across the constituency.
Georgia's picture was selected after careful deliberation of hundreds of entries by pupils from schools across Skipton and Ripon by Mr Smith and his parliamentary team.
Inside the card will also be included the designs of four joint runners-up -Robyn, eight, from Embsay Primary School; Jessica, 10, Fountains CE Primary School; Josh, five, Glasshouses Primary School, and Molly, 10, Settle CE Primary School.
Mr Smith said: “I’m really pleased to announce that Georgia Harling has won my Christmas card competition this year, after fighting off fierce competition from hundreds of pupils across Skipton and Ripon.
“It’s been fantastic to receive so many entries and I’m grateful to every pupil who took part this year, as well as their teachers and all the staff who helped them submit their designs.
“There have been some brilliant designs and I’m delighted that Georgia’s, Robyn’s, Jessica’s, Josh’s and Molly’s designs will all feature in my official Christmas Card this year. Thank you to everyone who took part.’
