MP JULIAN Smith was invited to visit Skipton Jobcentre and find out more about its work supporting people into jobs.
Jo Corney, the Department for Work and Pension’s Service Leader for North East Yorkshire and the Humber, and Adrian Dobson, the manager of Skipton Jobcentre, showed Mr Smith around and gave him an insight into their respective roles.
Mr Smith also saw a busy wellbeing event taking place, with the Jobcentre working alongside staff from the Samaritans, Christians against Poverty and Men’s Sheds.
He said, “It was great to meet Jo, Adrian and the team. They do such a fantastic job supporting people into work and it’s clear they are passionate about what they do. “I’d strongly encourage people to actively engage with them and make the most of the array of resources they can offer.”
