A SKIPTON-based service for people experiencing homelessness and rough sleeping is appealing for donations towards service-led activities and to help those setting up their own home.

The Craven Rough Sleeper Pathway, based at Pinder House, provides people experiencing homelessness or rough sleeping with safe, supported accommodation to work on their goals, gain their independence and find their own home.

The service, which aims to prevent street homelessness as quickly as possible, is run by Horton Housing and is funded by North Yorkshire Council and the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities.

Hasib Lakhi, service manager, said: “Many people in our service come to us with very few or no belongings. We are grateful for donations of furniture and household items for people as and when they move on from our service and into their own accommodation. Please check our Facebook page for requests for donations of furniture.

“We are also grateful for donations at any time of food to support our cook and eat sessions, gardening items to support our wellbeing gardening club, and anything else the community feels may benefit the people in our service.”

Anyone who would like to give a donation, is asked to contact the scheme to arrange delivery, phone 01756 794882; email pinderhouse@hortonhousing.co.uk; or find Craven Rough Sleeper Hub on Facebook.
